With July gone, so has the first calendar month of sales for my book, Who Do You Help?.

As promised, I plan to give away each month’s sales to charity, and give you updates each month here on my website.

The first month’s sales on Kindle for Who Do You Help? generated about $33.52, but nobody likes donating weird numbers, so let’s round it up to $40.

Today we will be donating that $40 to GiveDirectly, an organization I have often donated to in the past.

GiveDirectly is simple, and I like how it allows the clients it works with agency over how they spend their money.

That’s because their organization is centered around facilitating money transfers from donations directly to people living in poverty—often those in extreme poverty, where one’s donations have the most impact.

Hence the name GiveDirectly.

Most of their work is in Africa, but they have also done work in the United States, as well as Turkey and Yemen.

Furthermore, I appreciate that they are consistently doing research on their work, publishing it, and adjusting their approach as they go.

I’m Randy

Welcome to my blog! Here you can find my–in process–ten-part series exploring some of my thoughts on my book, Who Do You Help? As for what follows that series, I’m still working on it, but that’s a problem for future Randy, who I’m confident has it all figured out.
